Letters From The Museum Of Pain: Part 1

“Dear Kaidan,

A few days ago I understood a little bit more about life. You’ll find it funny, ironic even. But the fact is it makes me feel better, the truth about life. There’s so much you don’t know, so much you have yet to find out. But that will only happen if you were to find me again… no, that can’t happen. Whenever I happen to have the fortune to catch a glimpse of you, only one word comes to mind. Heavenly. Again, ironic. It also breaks my heart, my hard-as-a-rock heart. I can’t ask you to stop, I know you won’t. But it hurts me to see that you still wait for me to come home from work at a quarter to eight, that you still sleep next to my rightful place with my shirt clenched tightly to your chest and that your barely beating heart whispers my name every single moment of every single day. How can I ask you to stop the only things which permit you to see another light of the day? Don’t stop. But… don’t stop living either. I still see you when the rain falls. Did I tell you I am falling in love again? In love with the anticipation of the raindrops reaching your land and letting me see my other Heaven again. I think you should fall in love, too. I am sending other angels your way. Try not to turn them away. If I could just see your smile, that mischievous crooked grin again, nothing would make me happier.

Kisses from the Afterlife,

Love, Kristen.”
