Broken Things: A Poem

broken_people_by_lucri-d5xkmp8

Let the entire world know

We’re not beyond repair.

We can mend ourselves

Despite the despair.

Listen to the silent cries

Of the people you call “retards”.

You ever seen a shattered soul?

Or a damaged heart?

So let the entire world know

They’ve been depraved,

Because we’re broken things

And broken things can be repaired.

Listen to the person

Who has actually had it hard.

Then make your assertions

About the emotionally scarred.

Let the entire world know

There’s a tinge of “perfection”

In the quality of being broken

And then achieving restoration.
